Aviator shaped sunglasses are inspired by Ray Ban’s design and give a great field of vision whilst also being very stylish with a retro feel. Ray Ban originally developed this sunglass shape in the 1930’s for the American military to provide all around cover for the eyes of fighter pilots. The Aviator shape’s popularity saw it cross over into the public domain were it inspired other brands to copy and embellish on Ray Bans original shape design; for example the Mykita Franz and Alios, Chanel 4179, Maui Jim Akoni and the Tom Ford 007.
